Lead Experience Designer

Oxygen is a Seattle-based firm that helps companies grow by modernizing sales enablement and workplace education. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and delivery of highly interactive experiential learning experiences courses
  • Lead the overall design strategy using Oxygen methodology
  • Interpret and execute the architecture as designed
  • Partner with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to align content; conduct independent research as needed
  • Reduce the friction for clients through coaching, communicating, and offering creative solutions that foster collaboration
  • Provide key input to other Oxygen resources to develop repeatable methods for the creation and delivery of engagements
  • Include digital technologies as appropriate (virtual reality, video lectures, games, interactive assessments, instructional videos, eLearning, etc.) to achieve desired learning outcomes for clients
  • Ability to think outside the box and be innovative, including developing innovative hands-on interactive strategies to keep learners engaged—especially in a virtual setting

Functional Capabilities

  • Organize and run subject matter expert contribution sessions, including advising and capturing insights, then translating information into design and content
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content 
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
  • Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design 
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Lead creation of supporting materials and media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and interactive design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
  • Visual design skills and familiarity with industry standard design tools
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • Develop training course assessments to measure, evaluate and refine outcomes
  • Ensure design consistency across all deliverables
  • Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies, instructional design theories, and innovative approaches for potential application
  • Upload training into various platforms and tools as desired
  • Create training modules and organize content in a way that is most efficient for staff understanding

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated experience in working with small and large teams spread internationally
